A working croft, a scenic drive on single tracked roads on the West Coast of Islay, but worth the trip. Quality hand crafted gifts most made from natural local resources such as hand spinning, stick making, lace making, painting and articles made from stag horn.

Islay House Square
Is a good place to browse as it’s the location of several speciality and craft shops as well as the Islay Whisky Vault and the Nerabus Gin shop. Islay Quilters make fabulous quilts and run workshops too. A Glass Artist and a Wood workshop also reside in the square and the glass artist runs frequent workshops. Mrs Mackinnon’s Marmalade shop has lots of Islay Food goodies and also makes up hampers to Order. The Square is also home to Mark Unsworth’s Photography gallery, full of amazing photos and artworks to take home as well as lots of unusual gifts and cards and is a good place to pop in for tea and cake too. There is also a Professional Laundry should you also need to get some chores done!

Islay Woollen Mill
This family concern produces an excellent range of top quality woven fabrics to discerning clients as well as for many Film productions. The Mill Shop is open from Monday to Saturday and features a wide selection of both Woollen Mill clothing, products and quality souvenirs. Knowledgeable staff can also guide you through the weaving process, a sight for all the senses when it’s in full production! Keep a look out for the photographs on the walls of all the Film productions they have clothed.

A great little supermarket & Deli with probably the best selection of Whisky bottles to buy on the island! They stock a large range of Islay Malts and other Scottish Whiskies and also some very interesting limited bottlings too. Friendly owner and staff who can also help to recommend other Whiskies to try too. Definitely worth a browse, to stock up on essentials of all sorts and also a good place to buy a bottle or two to take home.
