There are currently 9 distilleries now on Islay, with a few more opening soon and 1 also on neighbouring Jura, each has their own unique style and flavour. Four of them also offer very good café’s serving drinks, cakes and 3 out of the 4 also serve food too. All of the distilleries offer a variety of tours that run throughout the year, but remember to call or book online in advance to avoid disappointment. Please note not all distilleries allow children under 8 years of age access to the production areas, please check with each Distillery direct to ensure all members of your party are able to take part.

Try walking the 3-distillery path connecting Port Ellen with Laphroaig, Lagavulin & Ardbeg.

Or why don't you rent a bicycle or electric bicycle for the trip?
